AI for Garages & MOT Centres

Capture Booking Enquiries While Your Technicians Work

A busy garage needs a way to take MOT and service enquiries without interrupting work on a vehicle. We build phone answering, booking chat and reminder workflows that collect registration details, check approved availability and pass fault descriptions to your team. Your technicians decide diagnosis and estimates; customers approve additional work. Live booking is included only when your scheduling system exposes an authorised, reliable interface.

The Problem

Where a garage loses time and customers

Workshop calls interrupt hands-on work

An enquiry arrives during an inspection or repair, when the person with the right information cannot take it. Capture the registration, requested service and preferred contact time so reception can follow up without interrupting the job.

Fault descriptions are not repair estimates

Section 51 of the Consumer Rights Act addresses a reasonable price where a service price has not been fixed. It does not mean an assistant can diagnose a fault or invent an estimate. The Motor Ombudsman’s Service and Repair Code sets expectations for accredited businesses; your team owns quotations and scope.

Additional work needs the customer’s decision

The Motor Ombudsman’s Code addresses authorisation for additional work at accredited garages. A message should carry the technician’s approved explanation and request a response, not treat silence as consent or accept a decision from someone whose identity has not been checked.

Reminders need a usable next step

DVSA offers a free MOT reminder service in Great Britain. A garage’s own workflow can add a link to request an appointment and relevant availability from its diary. It should not imply an MOT is booked until the slot has actually been confirmed.

What We Build

AI solutions for garages & mot centres

AI Phone Answering That Books the Bay

Records MOT, service and repair enquiries, uses approved published service information and checks available slots where access permits. Fault diagnosis, safety questions and repair estimates go to a technician; a failed diary lookup becomes a request for confirmation.

AI Voice Agents pricing and details

Website & WhatsApp Booking Chat

Collects the vehicle registration and appointment requirements, explains your opening hours and booking process, and distinguishes a confirmed appointment from a pending request. It does not promise a repair completion time that your workshop has not approved.

AI Chatbot Development pricing and details

MOT & Service Reminders, and Cancellation Backfill

Sends approved appointment reminders and offers suitable cancelled slots where booking access permits. Additional-work messages record a customer response for staff review; they never approve a repair or take payment on the customer’s behalf.

AI Automation pricing and details

Connected to the Booking System You Already Run

We assess workshop software permissions, bay capacity and booking rules first. An authorised API may support live updates; without one, a confirmation queue gives reception a clear request to enter into the workshop diary.

  • Vehicle and service details captured before reception follows up
  • Verified availability used where a reliable diary interface exists
  • Cancelled-slot offers managed against capacity and service duration
  • Extra-work decisions retained by the customer and recorded for staff
  • No automated diagnosis, invented estimate or unconfirmed booking
FAQ

Questions garages & mot centres ask us

Can it give a repair price over the phone?

It can repeat an approved published price for a defined service, with the conditions your team specifies. A fault requiring inspection is handed to a technician for an estimate. The assistant does not infer a repair cost from a caller’s description or claim that an estimate has been agreed.

Will it approve extra work during a repair?

No. It can relay a technician-approved request and capture a response, but staff check identity, scope and customer authorisation before work proceeds. Silence or an ambiguous answer is not treated as approval.

Does this replace DVSA’s MOT reminder?

No. DVSA’s free service in Great Britain reminds a vehicle keeper about the MOT due date. A garage workflow can add its own approved booking route and availability. Reminder content, timing and any promotional messages are reviewed separately before release.

Can it book into our garage software?

Only if the system offers a suitable authorised integration and the bay and service rules can be tested. Otherwise it records a pending booking request for reception. We test duplicate requests, unavailable slots and cancelled appointments before turning on live booking.

How should a garage start?

Start with one appointment type at one site, such as MOT enquiries. Bring your diary system, service durations, published booking terms and escalation contact to a free discovery call. We agree the scope, confirmation rules and fixed quote before the build.

What the discovery call actually is

Thirty minutes, free, no obligation and no salesperson. You describe what is costing you time or customers, we ask about the systems involved, and you leave with an honest view of whether this is worth doing. We regularly end that call by saying the tool you already pay for covers it.

You own the result

The code, the repository and the accounts are set up in your company name rather than ours, and they are yours on completion and full payment. Nothing runs on infrastructure we control, so ending the relationship does not end the thing we built.

A fixed price, never a day rate

Every project is quoted as a fixed price with a written scope after the call, so an over-run is our problem rather than yours. If the scope changes, we say so and re-quote before doing the work, not after.

Where your data sits

In the UK or EU, under a data processing agreement, kept only as long as you specify. Any model provider we rely on is named as a sub-processor rather than left implicit, and we will tell you plainly where something you have asked for would put a commitment of yours at risk.

What happens when it goes wrong

Agreed before launch rather than negotiated during an incident: what is covered, how quickly we respond, and what counts as new work. Every build has a defined escalation to a person, because the failure that costs you is the one nobody noticed.

Two things you can check

Big Berri Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 16562429, and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC119995. Both are public registers. Look us up rather than taking our word for it.
